Raising Your Children on Islamic Knowledge

Babies are born ready to learn. Their brains develop through stimulation and use. At this stage engage and teach to familiarize, verbalize and visualize. Introduce Islamic symbols and words such as mosque, bismillah, Alhamdulillah, salaam through board, books, cartoons, audio files, flash cards and demonstration.

Pray namaz infront of babies. Set a time and recite and listen to Quran infront of kids.

Recite and familiarize! Read basic Duas loud out for actions:

  • Before eating
  • After eating
  • Before sleeping
  • Before waking

Remind! Tell them about the presence of Allah through simple words. Listen to 99 names of Allah.

Set an Islamic bedtime routine.

Recite the following out loud to familiarize:

  • Ayat ul kursi
  • 4 kul
  • Durood
  • Kalimas
  • Dua for sleep

Don’t worry about them learning. The goal is to introduce the basic concepts and excerpts.

Just follow the 4 R’s

  • Recite
  • Remind
  • Repeat
  • Routine
