Sharjah Light Festival 2023

Sharjah light festival (SLF) to return for the 12th year from 8th to 19th February 2023. Read more about SLF legacy here. The SLF is now an integral part of the emirate’s landscape, growing from a small spark, to attract hundreds of thousands of visitors yearly who come to be astonished by the specially composed music, artistic ingenuity and technical skills of the masters who curate the stunning illuminations onto the splendid landmarks of Sharjah.

The Sharjah Light festival takes visitors on a tour of cultural heights, fusing all the components of beauty, art, culture, education, innovation and higher thinking into one glorious event. The energy of the event, encompassing all of the emirate and extending to the east coast towns of Dibba, Khorfakkan and Kalba, is loved by visitors and residents, enriching travellers’ experience and integrating tourism, culture and creativity in a profound and meaningful manner while benefiting the local community.

A journey of light that takes us from past, present and into the future – the Sharjah Light Festival has showcased Sharjah and the emirate’s identity, for over 10 astonishing years, becoming an innate part of the emirate’s legacy.



The Festival is a highly anticipated annual event, utilising creative and innovative light technology and specifically curated music so the iconic landmarks of the emirate, such as Sharjah Mosque, the University City Hall, the Al Majaz Waterfront and many others can literally be seen in a new light. Many of the designs are poetic and inspired by local culture, stories and traditions or incorporate nature and space, some are based on more modern art and design, all are beautiful and thought provoking.
