Sharjah Light Festival 2025: A Dazzling Celebration

The Sharjah Light Festival 2025 is set to mesmerize residents and tourists alike from February 5 to 23, 2025. Now in its 14th edition, this globally acclaimed festival transforms the emirate’s iconic landmarks into stunning displays of light and color, celebrating the fusion of art, culture, and technology.

A Brief History of the Sharjah Light Festival

The festival first debuted in 2011, conceptualized by the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA) to highlight the emirate’s rich architectural heritage and cultural significance. Over the years, it has grown exponentially, attracting thousands of visitors from around the world.

Each edition of the festival focuses on a unique theme, incorporating elements of science, innovation, and tradition. Sharjah’s most cherished landmarks, such as the Al Noor Mosque and Sharjah University City Hall, have consistently served as the backdrop for awe-inspiring projections.

Festival Highlights for 2025

The 2025 edition of the festival promises to be bigger and brighter, featuring 15 mesmerizing light installations crafted by a mix of local and international artists. Spectacular illuminations will grace landmarks such as:

  • Sharjah Mosque – A visual spectacle inspired by Emirati heritage and Islamic art.
  • University City Hall – Showcasing futuristic themes and cutting-edge projection technology.
  • Al Majaz Waterfront – Offering a breathtaking water-and-light experience.

The festival’s theme this year is inspired by “Nature and Beyond,” blending elements of space, the environment, and cultural heritage into immersive displays.

Light Village: A Hub of Activity

A major attraction of the festival is the Light Village, located in front of University City Hall. This vibrant space offers:

  • Over 50 food and beverage stalls, featuring international cuisines and local delicacies.
  • Interactive exhibitions that explore the artistry and science of light installations.
  • Entertainment areas for families, with activities suited for all age groups.

Expanding Beyond Sharjah City

In addition to Sharjah’s main city, the festival will extend to eastern towns such as Dibba, Kalba, and Khorfakkan, bringing the celebration closer to more residents across the emirate.
